Antibody quantification in prevalent diseases with a high index or reinfections is very useful in adult patients. The seroprevalence of cytomegalovirus in adults is higher than 60%, making IgM detection in adults very rare and qualitative IgG measurement of less utility.
At VIRCELL we work on the continuous improvement of our products and we are glad to inform you about the last update ofCYTOMEGALOVIRUS ELISA IgG (ref. G1004): Effective from lot 08ECMVG102, our kit includes a semiquantification sample control with 20-50 U/ml of IgG anti-cytomegalovirus.
This improvement means an extension of the product use, as the quantitative protocol does not mean any price increase. The users which are not interested in quantification can perform the technique as usual.
