The appearance of new virus strains and the arrival of different vaccines have evolved the pandemic in recent months and Vircell has adapted to these new situations.
More than 158,959,705 cases have been diagnosed with COVID-19 worldwide. In this situation, the correct diagnosis of the different variants of SARS-CoV-2 and the monitoring of the immunity generated by the different vaccines will play a crucial role in the evolution of the pandemic.
For this reason, Vircell has developed new real-time PCR kits and serological assays emerging as a potential control tool on the way to a new normal.
Realtime PCR kits for Molecular Diagnosis
· SARS-COV-2 VARIANTS REALTIME PCR KIT with two different formats:
- RTPCR010 contains 6 glass vials of lyophilized master mix.Reaction tubes are not included.
- RTPCR010-LP contains caps and 12x8 PCR strips with pre-dispensed lyophilized master mix.
· DIRECT SARS-CoV-2 RealTime PCR Kit with three different formats:
- RTPCR002-LP contains caps and 12x8 PCR strips with pre-dispended master mix.
- RTPCR002-LPP contains optical sealing film and a 96-well plate with pre-dispended master mix.
- RTPCR002 does not include reaction tubes and can therefore be used with any FAM/Cy5/HEX (VIC) qPCR clycler.
· SARS-CoV2/FLU/RSV REALTIME PCR KIT with three different formats:
- RTPCR003-LP contains caps and 12x8 PCR strips with pre-dispensed lyophilized master mix.
- RTPCR003-LPP contains 1x96 well plate with lyophilized master mix. Plastic adhesive cover is included.
- RTPCR003 contains 6 glass vials of lyophilized master mix. Reaction tubes are not included.

· AMPLIRUN SARS-CoV-2 RNA CONTROLS PANEL. These external run controls contains whole inactivated Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, formulated in viral transport medium. It is intended to monitor the entire process (extraction, amplification and detection), and is compatible with any molecular analysis for the diagnosis of COVID-19.

Serological Assays
Monitoring the patient's immunological curve after having suffered the disease or receiving vaccination is another important tool against COVID-19. Vircell has developed a kit for this purpose, the COVID-19 SPIKE QUANTITATIVE VIRCLIA® IgG MONOTEST. On the other hand, it is important to develop these immunoassays with high specificity in order to minimize false positive detections and determining who may be immune.
Transport Medium
More than ten transport medium kits for the collection and preservation of different infectious agents. Versatile medium, valid for different types of samples, microorganisms and diagnostic methods. Improves microorganisms viability between collection and inoculation.
The possibility of using saliva samples, as in TRANSPORT MEDIUM-2, is really useful for population screening programmes because it allows the patient to take their own sample, relieving the work of healthcare personnel.
